ความหมายของเพลง

 หลายคนอาจคิดว่า แม่แมรี่ (Mother Mary) ที่พอล (Paul McCartney) กล่าวถึงในเพลงคือ พระแม่เมรี่ในพระคัมภีร์ไบเบิ้ล แต่จริงๆแล้ว แม่แมรี่ก็คือแม่แท้ๆของพอลที่ชื่อแมรี่และเสียไปตั้งแต่พอลยังอายุได้แค่ 14 ค่ะ

 พอลเคยเล่าถึงที่มาขอเพลงนี้ว่า ในคืนหนึ่งที่เขารู้สึกทุกข์ใจกับปัญหาที่รุมเร้า เขานอนหลับและฝันถึงแม่ที่จากไปแล้วมาพูดจาเตื่อนสติเขา และความฝันนั้นก็เป็นจุดกำเนิดของเพลงอมตะเพลงหนึ่งของโลกค่ะ

"She was reassuring me, saying, 'It's going to be OK, just let it be.' I felt so great. She gave me the positive words. I woke up and thought, 'What was that? She said 'Let It Be.' That's good.' So I wrote the song 'Let It Be' out of positivity."
